About the artist:
Krystof is the nom de plume of Krzysztof Skonieczny, a Polish-born musician now based in Milan. After spending over a decade immersed in the creative pulse of London, he relocated briefly to the remote, volcanic landscapes of La Palma, one of Spain’s Canary Islands. There, he came into possession of a secluded piece of land scattered with natural caves — one of them which would soon become both his reefuge and his recording studio. Krystof channels his transitory life experiences into soundscapes that blur the line between field recording, electronic composition, and intuitive improvisation.

About the album:
Diario di Vacanza is Krystof’s debut album and a sonic diary — a textured, immersive chhronicle of his escape from the urban clamor of London to the elemental quiet of La Palma. This is an album shaped by silence and stars, by caves and coastlines, by the sound of wind threading through trees and insects humming under the moonlight.

Drawing from field recordings, modular synthesis, processed samples, and intuitive live sessions, Krystof constructs a series of pieces that feel both intimate and expansive. The album captures the unhurried rhythms of island life, echoing with the absence of cars, the clarity of birdsong, and the organic weight of solitude. Many tracks were born within a cave — not metaphorically, but literally — a sp space carved by nature, inhabited and transformed into a creative sanctuary.

About the m50 set:
"It's a live recording with new and older, but previously unreleased material as well as elements from the album. There is an alternative version of ‘Passagio’ that I did some time ago, later you can hear elements of ‘Mewa’ (31:00), 'Gate Passage' (35:30), 'Barranco' (40:30) and elements of ‘Waalweg’ scattered throughout the mix. It is an improvisation and this particular set was done mainly on a Zoom R16 and Korg Volca as a keyboard sampler with some material mixed in from Ableton Live."
